Newcastle United have postponed contract renewal talks with Rolando Aarons until the summer, alerting a number of potential suitors.
The England U20 international broke into Newcastle’s first-team last summer in Oceania and has since established himself as one of Newcastle’s brightest sparks – thanks to some top drawer displays against Crystal Palace and Manchester City. If it weren’t for a string of injuries, Rolando probably would have asserted himself as a first-team regular by now, with only the under-performing Yoan Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi providing competition for his place.
As a result of his sudden rise, Aarons has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester City. With just one year remaining on his current contract, the potential suitors will attempt to sign the young winger for a cut-price this summer.
However, Newcastle have confirmed talks will recommence with the 19-year-old at the end of the season.
