Due to a number of injuries and suspensions, Newcastle’s squad are down to the bare bones ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Gunners.
As a result, John Carver looks set to hand Lubomir Satka his debut against Arsenal, with just one senior centre-half available for tomorrow’s game.
Amid talk of the 19-year-old being handed his debut, Satka told the club’s official website: “It doesn’t scare me.”
“I don’t feel any pressure. I want to say I’m ready but I guess you never know until you actually play. But I’m excited.”
“If I get called upon, I’ll try my best.”
He added, “Hopefully I’ll make my debut and it’ll be good for me to be tested against good players. Obviously, it would be a big test for me – I’m still young – but it would be a great learning experience.”
It is believed Dutch international Daryl Janmaat will partner Mike Williamson at centre-half tomorrow, with Ryan Taylor and Lubo at either full-back position.
