Real Madrid’s assistant coach Paul Clement has admitted he could return to management in England, amid speculation linking him with the head coach vacancy at St James’ Park.
Clement told ITV: “I really see the best opportunity for me to go back and work in England but I don’t rule out other opportunities in other countries. I have an open mind to things.”
“But I think my best chance would be there [England] because coaching in your own language where you’ve got the feel and the emotion as well is going to be the best for me,” he added.
Despite Paul’s comments, Newcastle’s search for a new head coach has been put on hold until the end of the season, as the board continue to back the struggling John Carver to succeed at the reigns.
Even if Lee Charnley does offer him the job, Clement may favour a return to his hometown with Queens Park Rangers keen on signing the 42-year-old.
