Several Newcastle representatives were given the assignment of scouting French right-back Yarouba Cissako, who’s currently on loan at Zulte Waregem from AS Monaco, according to French outlet RMC.
Following an explosive start to his current Pro League campaign, with a goal and eight assists so far, Yarouba has attracted interest from a number of potential suitors, including Premier League duo Everton and Liverpool, as well as Newcastle.
Dutch side PSV Eidenhoven were among those with an interest in signing Yarouba but, due to significant interest from Premier League clubs, they have cooled their interest.
Having only played reserve football for the Ligue 1 outlet, coupled with the Frenchman entering the final year of his contract in the summer, Monaco may struggle to keep hold of the 20-year-old, despite informing his representatives that they will table a new deal in the near future.
Graham Carr shortlisted the Frenchman to replace the injury prone Ryan Taylor, who’s set to depart the club in the summer as a free transfer, with just six months remaining on his current contract and no renewal talks upon the horizon.
