Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi has emerged as a shock target for former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes, who’s looking to bolster Real Sociedad’s attacking options.
With just six months remaining on his current deal, the 22-year-old would be an ideal signing for Moyes’ side who, much like the aforementioned – Everton and Newcastle, are run on a tight budget.
Although Ameobi can be signed on a pre-contract, it is believed Newcastle had already planned contract renewal talks with the academy graduate, meaning Sociedad will need to act fast to secure his signature.
David Moyes is also looking to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings, with his contract set to expire too.
Both signings are likely to raise a few eyebrows as to why the Scotsman is looking to sign British players, but the answer is simple – he wants his own stamp on the team at the Anoeta Stadium.
