Having failed to secure a single permanent signing in the recent January transfer window, Newcastle United could be set for a summer revamp following the exits of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Davide Santon and Hatem Ben Arfa, along with the resignation of Alan Pardew from his post as manager.
Under the reign of controversial owner Mike Ashley many fans may be sceptical but, with a number of the squad’s fringe players looking to depart from St James’ Park in a desperate search for first-team football, his hand may be forced.
According to the Metro, Graham Carr has drawn up a five-man shortlist consisting of Danny Ings, Diego Capel, Andre Ayew, Daniel Wass and long-term target Pierre-Michel Lasogga. While the Chronicle suggest Newcastle will return to Spain’s second tier to snap up young Spaniards David Concha and Jorge Meré, following the success of recent arrival Ayoze Perez.
A potential hindrance to these potential deals, apart from Danny Ings’, will be the Premier League’s home grown registration rule as Sammy Ameobi, Ryan Taylor and Jak Alnwick could depart Newcastle this summer.
Although news has recently surfaced suggesting that the aforementioned, Sammy Ameobi, could be set to sign a new contract with the Magpies.
