Newcastle United have unveiled their new crest, with the supporter-backed design set to appear on the club’s kits from the 2027/28 season.
The badge will arrive across signage, digital channels and broadcast platforms over the coming months, according to Newcastle’s official announcement.
Option C won 64.8% of first-choice votes in a poll completed by 27,348 supporters. Option B received 19%, with Option A taking 16.2%.
The club’s full consultation results show that voting ran from 6 to 27 August. The winning design secured majority backing in every supporter category included in the poll.
What changes in Newcastle’s new crest?
The design retains the castle, black-and-white shield, seahorse figures, lion, pennon and ribbon bearing the club’s name.
Newcastle have refined those elements to improve their clarity on screens, broadcast graphics and embroidered clothing. The previous crest had represented the club since 1988.
Supporters involved in the consultation wanted those familiar features protected, with the project developing three options rather than replacing the badge with an entirely different design.
Chief executive David Hopkinson said fans had delivered a clear instruction: “protect what we have, keep the elements we love, and do not start again.”
For supporters planning their next shirt purchase, the key date is 2027/28. Newcastle have said further retail details will follow.
The rollout adds another change to the club’s visual identity following the KNOX shirt sponsorship agreement covered earlier this year.
