Newcastle United Women have received a double boost ahead of Sunday’s WSL2 clash with Leicester City.
Jordan Nobbs is back in Tanya Oxtoby’s squad, while Jessie Gale has returned to first-team training as Newcastle prepare for the start of a demanding three-game week.
Newcastle United confirmed the positive team news ahead of Leicester’s visit to Gateshead International Stadium.
Oxtoby said of Nobbs: “Jordan’s experience is amazing… it’s nice to welcome her back.”
The Newcastle boss was equally pleased to have Gale back around the group after her absence.

The timing of the pair’s return is particularly useful.
Newcastle face Leicester on Sunday before travelling to Aston Villa in the Women’s League Cup on Wednesday, with another WSL2 fixture against Durham following next weekend.
Oxtoby believes the busy schedule will create opportunities throughout a squad strengthened significantly during the summer.
She said there are “plenty of opportunities for minutes” across the three-game week as players compete for places.
