Sky Sports journalist posts exclusive video as Newcastle United signing very close

Newcastle United will need to get busy over the next couple of weeks or so. Not a lot of time is left in the summer transfer window but the Magpies have left themselves with a lot of work to do, that is for sure.

Just look at the talent that has departed the club in recent months. One could argue that they have lost their three very best players. Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali have all left.

But so far, Newcastle United have not done anywhere near enough to replace them. That has been evident from their performances and results in pre-season.

More additions are needed, as simple as that. And it looks like the next signing is now on the verge of completion, and the fans can expect an announcement very soon.

Keith Downie has now posted an exclusive video on his social media late last night of Amar Dedic landing at Newcastle Airport. The Bosnian right-back will undergo his medical today after the Magpies agreed a £29.5 million deal with Benfica.

Of course, Dedic’s signing is one that must have been pushed for by Jaissle. The two have worked together at both FC Liefering and RB Salzburg in the past.

So, the connection is already there. Jaissle will know exactly what Dedic brings to the table as a full-back. In fact, he might have improved since the two worked together, as the Bosnian has played some top-level football at both club and international levels in that time.

Dedic promises to be a solid addition to this Newcastle United team. Will he be a starter or a cover option moving forward? You can see it go both ways. So, time shall tell.

What does this mean for Tino Livramento?

Livramento is an elite talent. There is no doubt about that. There is a reason that he was called up for the England World Cup squad when Thomas Tuchel chose to leave out so many others.

Unfortunately for Livramento, he picked up an injury on the eve of the World Cup and ended up missing the tournament as a result of it.

One simply cannot overlook the English youngster’s injury record. He managed to play just 17 Premier League games last season, as he dealt with a variety of issues.

When fit and in form, one could argue that Livramento still should be the first choice. But at the same time, it is understandable why the new manager might have felt the need to have another quality option there.
