Sky Sport confirm Newcastle United transfer rumour is ‘fake’

So far this summer, we have seen plenty of Newcastle United’s players head for the exit door. And there are more who could be set to follow them out.

Bruno Guimaraes is being linked with a move to Arsenal. It is believed that personal terms have already been agreed. Now, it remains to be seen if the Premier League champions can find an agreement with Newcastle United or not.

There is speculation around the future of Lewis Hall as well. He is wanted by Manchester United. And while nothing seems to be advanced right now, it won’t take long for things to change.

The likes of Joe Willock and Nick Pope are expected to leave this summer. On top of that, rumours emerged yesterday that Nick Woltemade had been given permission to depart on loan. But as it turns out, that was ‘fake’.

Nick Woltemade exit rumours rubbished as ‘fake’

According to a report from Sky Sport, Woltemade has not received clearance from Newcastle United to transfer. Sporting director Ross Wilson is currently not planning a permanent exit or even a loan.

Woltemade’s advisor, Danny Bachmann, has confirmed to Sky Sport that the reports originated from fake accounts. The German international striker wants to stay, is in top shape and has set himself high goals for the season.

I had never covered the said reports about Woltemade’s possible exit on Read Newcastle, as even the original source provided was months old. And as it has turned out, the news was off the mark.

Woltemade endured a difficult debut season at Newcastle United. Now, it looks like he is aiming to turn it around in his second year in England. He certainly has the traits to do so.

Can Woltemade make the difference for Newcastle next season?

Nick Woltemade proved himself to be an exceptional talent during his time in Germany. Unfortunately, it has not quite worked out for him at St James’ Park so far.

He made a fantastic start to life at Newcastle United, going on a scoring run upon arrival. But he would soon lose his form and never find it again.

By the end of the season, Woltemade was even being played out of position by Eddie Howe a lot of the time. That could not have done the striker’s confidence much good.

Now, he has had the summer off and gotten the opportunity to think things over. Perhaps we could see a different version of Woltemade next season. At least one would hope so, because Newcastle United badly need a consistent goalscorer.
