Newcastle United have already signed one winger this summer in the form of Bazoumana Toure. He has been brought in on a record deal from Hoffenheim. But the Magpies could be looking to add another option on the flanks.
Let’s not forget that Anthony Gordon left Newcastle United to join Barcelona this summer. He was the club’s best winger, without a doubt.
So, replacing him is not going to be an easy task. Are the club completely convinced that Toure is going to be a success? Or should they make another addition there to decrease the risk involved.
This time around, if reports coming out of Spain are on the mark, then Newcastle United are looking for a former Barcelona winger. But the transfer fee could be a steep one.
Newcastle United linked with Real Betis winger
According to a report from SPORT, Real Betis are preparing for a historic transfer of Abde Ezzalzouli given the interest from Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the player.
Real Betis hope to collect the €60 million release clause in Ezzalzouli’s contract. Barcelona still retains 20% of any future transfer, so they could receive a significant figure if the move happens.
Ezzalzouli is coming off the best season of his career. He scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 43 games for Real Betis. Those are terrific numbers for a winger.
So, it is not hard to see why Real Betis might want his full release clause to part ways with him. But would Newcastle United be open to paying that kind of figure while working under financial constraints?
Would Ezzalzouli be a good signing for Newcastle?
Of course, it is impossible to predict whether a player would adjust to the Premier League or not, coming in from La Liga. But there is no doubt about Ezzalzouli’s quality.
He does have a contract until the summer of 2029. So, Real Betis are not under any pressure to part ways with him, if their transfer demands are not met.
It is worth mentioning that Aston Villa are also said to be interested in signing Ezzalzouli. Of course, it is no secret that the Magpies have had a tough time competing with other Premier League teams for signings.
Earlier in the summer, Liverpool signed Victor Munoz ahead of Newcastle United. More recently, Johan Manzambi picked a move to Aston Villa over them. Could Ezzalzouli be next?
