Arsenal hold talks to sign Newcastle United player this summer

Arsenal finally ended their drought by winning the Premier League last season, after coming agonisingly close on numerous occasions under Mikel Arteta in the past. They don’t seem to be content with that though, especially after losing the Champions League final on penalties. So, they will look to sign more quality players this summer. Talks have been held with one elite Newcastle United talent.

This summer promises to be a tricky one for Newcastle United. The project seems to be headed in the wrong direction at the moment, as so many key players appear to be on the verge of leaving or trying to engineer moves away.

Of course, all the talk in recent weeks has been about Sandro Tonali and his potential move away this summer. He is not the only one seeking an exit from Newcastle United though.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal have held talks with Bruno Guimaraes’ camp. Representatives in the UK are gauging the transfer interest for the Brazilian international.

Guimaraes looking for Newcastle United exit this summer

It would be an understatement to say that Guimaraes is a key player for Newcastle United. He is one of the most integral parts of Eddie Howe’s team.

If the Magpies somehow see both Tonali and Guimaraes leave in the same transfer window, it would be very difficult for them to replace the sheer quality.

That being said, this is simply the reality of the situation. Newcastle United missed out on Europe and now, their best players are looking to join teams that are in the competition.

It is worth mentioning that Guimaraes is not the only Newcastle United player that Arsenal have been linked with lately. Tonali is rumoured to be on their radar as well.

Midfielders Newcastle could sign this summer

The Magpies might have a lot of work to do in this summer transfer window. Especially if these high-profile exits end up becoming reality.

Newcastle United themselves have been linked with quite a few quality midfielders. One of them is Lamine Camara of AS Monaco.

He is currently at the World Cup representing Senegal. And to be honest, it has been an underwhelming tournament for one of Africa’s strongest national teams so far.

On the other hand, reports also emerged earlier today that Newcastle United had put in an offer for French midfielder Arthur Atta of Udinese.
