- Newcastle United want to sign Zadok Yohanna and Victor Munoz
- Crucial summer transfer window for Eddie Howe and Co
- Magpies have already lost Anthony Gordon to Barcelona
Newcastle United are preparing for a summer transfer window that could define the course of the club in the coming years.
Having already lost Anthony Gordon to Barcelona last month, the Magpies are in the market for a handful of reinforcements after an underwhelming 12th-place finish in the Premier League.
Despite enduring a disappointing season across all fronts, Eddie Howe’s job is believed to be safe.
And Newcastle have already made moves to sign two exciting players who could add another dimension to their squad.
Newcastle United in talks to sign Zadok Yohanna and Victor Munoz
Gordon’s departure has left a big void in attack, especially with Yoane Wissa not living up to the hype and Nick Woltemade blowing hot and cold since joining from Stuttgart last summer.
Zadok Yohanna isn’t a household name in the world of football, but the youngster has earned rave reviews for his performances over the past 12 months.
Various reports have confirmed Newcastle’s interest in the 18-year-old winger, with Florian Plettenberg going as far as saying that the Magpies have currently made the highest offer for the player, with Chelsea and Brighton also interested.
Yohanna isn’t the only winger the Magpies have already made a move for. Osasuna’s Victor Munoz, who has widely been hailed as a speed demon, is also on Newcastle United’s radar.
El Chiringuito report that the Premier League outfit have already submitted a bid believed to be in the region of £35m to sign Munoz, who is enticed by the prospect of moving to England.
While they have a clear run at Munoz, Yohanna is still wanted by multiple clubs across the continent, so Newcastle will have to fend off other suitors to secure his signature.
Newcastle United’s transfer plan very clear
In recent years, the Magpies have resorted to signing Premier League-proven players and it’s safe to say it’s been a mixed bag so far.
Anthony Elanga and Wissa haven’t repaid the club’s faith in them, while Jacob Ramsey only started to show his class during the back end of the 2025-26 campaign.
Now, however, the Magpies appear to be targeting the right profiles as opposed to going for well-known names, which is evidenced by their pursuits of Yohanna and Munoz.
| Player | Club | Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Víctor Muñoz | CA Osasuna (La Liga) | La Liga | 34 | 6 | 2 |
| Copa del Rey | 2 | 1 | 3 | ||
| Total | 36 | 7 | 5 | ||
| Zadok Yohanna | AIK Fotboll (Allsvenskan) | Allsvenskan | 7 | 2 | 3 |
| Svenska Cupen | 2 | 0 | 0 | ||
| Total | 9 | 2 | 3 |
By adding more pace, goals and guile to their options out wide, the Magpies can go up a notch in the final third, which will also allow the likes of Will Osula and Woltemade to get better service up front.
Kieran Trippier has departed the club and so has Gordon, while a handful of others could follow the pair out of the door imminently.
Newcastle United are set for a major rejig this summer, and their pursuits of young talents such as Yohanna and Munoz prove that they want to bet on potential to raise the ceiling of their squad.
