Newcastle now eye “two serious signings” in January window

Newcastle United are looking to bring in “two serious signings” as we venture towards the January transfer window.

That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who claims the side will strike whilst they can and make use of the upcoming market to add quality to the squad.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “To be in a Champions League position right now rather than just chasing a Champions League position is probably beyond expectation, and knowing that you’re almost halfway through a season and you’ve just got to go through that again means they probably will hammer home the message that they are serious contenders for Champions League football.

“I think they will put their hands in their pockets again and that they will make two serious signings.”

Ultimately strengthening whilst you’re on top is the aim of the game, particularly in the Premier League.

A slight fall off can leave a club with catastrophic consequences, and having worked so hard to get themselves in a Champions League spot, Newcastle will not want to endure a decline of any sort.

The World Cup was always going to be a momentum killer of sorts, but the side must now seize the opportunity to restart the season in style, having already built the foundations of the side throughout the last two windows which has seen them splash out a league-leading sum of £211million.

Identifying targets who would be prepared to make the switch mid-way through the season could be a tough ask, but ultimately, the Magpies should look to add a couple of high-profile names to the squad whilst they can.
