Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier is relishing his duties as a leader under the tutelage of Eddie Howe.
That is according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie who believes the former Atletico Madrid star is enjoying his role in the Newcastle united “revolution.”
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Downie said: “You just get the feeling that he’s enjoying being a leader of what is becoming a bit of a revolution.
“I know the club say it’s an evolution and not a revolution, but when you look at the money they’ve spent in the space to transfer windows, it’s over £200m, and you’re looking at the starting XI, seven of the best starting XI have come in since January, so there has actually been quite a lot of change.”
Leading the Newcastle revolution
Having drastically struggled for game time this season, Jamal Lascelles, – Howe’s native captain of the side – has not been able to fulfil his duties in leading the squad on the pitch.
As such, Trippier has taken over those duties and appears to be relishing the responsibility of leading a side that has endured over £200million+ worth of change since January.
Trippier has featured in all 12 Premier League games this season and has become a talismanic figure during that time, with the club gathering momentum week on week as they realise their potential in their Champions League charge.
