Fans on social media react as Newcastle make decision on Steve Bruce’s future

Newcastle United have made a decision on Steve Bruce’s future, but it’s not what many expected and fans have had a strong reaction on social media.

The 60-year-old looked set for the sack following the takeover of the club by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, but Sky Sports News say Bruce will remain in charge for their first game under new ownership.

Some fans are happy with the news while others aren’t pleased at all, so the news has split the fanbase.

Newcastle welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon and will be desperate to pick up all three points as they’re still winless this season. The Magpies are 19th in the Premier League table with three points from seven games, having drawn three of their last five.

It was expected Bruce would be moved on during the international break so his successor would have time to bed themselves in before their next Premier League game, but Sky Sports News say Newcastle delayed the decision to allow them more time to locate his replacement.
