Federico Fernandez all smiles on Instagram after confirmed takeover

Everyone is talking about Newcastle United following their takeover by Saudi-led Public Investment Fund (PIF), PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, and the players have been no different.

Paul Dummett and Allan Saint-Maximin wasted little time posting on social media, mocking Newcastle’s rivals while anticipating a bright future with the lucrative investment, and they aren’t alone.

Federico Fernandez also posted a picture on Instagram, showing off a big smile while tapping the Newcastle badge on his shirt. He’s clearly excited over what’s the come now Mike Ashley is left, so players can finally be positive about the season

Newcastle currently sit 19th in the Premier League and would have been fearing the worst before their takeover, but now the North-East outfit are being linked with big-name players and top-level coaches, so the future is bright.

Fernandez should be around to see some of the changes at St James’ Park. The 32-year-old, who’s made 87 appearances in all competitions since joining from Swansea City in 2018, has two years remaining on his contract and has been a regular this season.

All positions may eventually be upgraded now Newcastle are the world’s richest club, however, so Fernandez can’t rest on his laurels too much.
