Allan Saint-Maximin posts on social media after Newcastle’s takeover is confirmed

It’s exciting times at Newcastle United following their takeover by Public Investment Fund (PIF), PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media and Allan Saint-Maximin was one of many players to post on Instagram to mark the occasion.

Mike Ashley’s 14-year ownership of the Magpies has come to an end and now United have the richest owners in football. Although Steve Bruce’s men sit 19th in the Premier League, Newcastle are expected to spend big in January to turn their situation around.

The Saudi-led owners have their sights set on silverware following their takeover, so mediocrity will no longer stand like it did under Ashley. Saint-Maximin and others are right to be excited about the future, as history has shown that wealthy owners usually bring success.

That could mean some existing players and coaches have to make way, however, as Newcastle need to upgrade in every area. But Saint-Maximin spoke about a ‘perfect plan’ coming ‘step by step’ when posting his picture, so he’s clearly looking forward to the future.

This takeover has been years in the making and could shake up the big-six of Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
