Paul Dummett mocks rivals on social media after completed takeover

Paul Dummett usually uses his Instagram account to post pictures of his training sessions at Newcastle and non-competitive matches he’s played in, but the 30-year-old opted to post a picture on his Instagram to mock rivals Sunderland.

Public Investment Fund (PIF), PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media have completed their takeover of Newcastle and Dummett is one of many players excited to see what the future holds.

The left-back took a shot at Sunderland with his post and clearly wanted to boast publicly about the resources Newcastle will have in the next transfer window.

The Magpies are currently 19th in the Premier League and at risk of relegation under Steve Bruce, but they’re now the richest club in the world after the league authorised the move.

Although Dummett has been mocking Sunderland, he’s not had the best luck himself of late. The 30-year-old is yet to make an appearance this season as he’s struggled with injury and is recovering slowly.

Matt Ritchie and Jamal Lewis have stepped up in his absence and may keep Dummett out of the side when he does return. The 30-year-old has one year remaining on his deal, so he should see some of Newcastle’s transformation, but his long-term future may be in doubt.
