Jamal Lewis posts pictures on Insta and endorses Jacob Murphy’s training snap

Jamal Lewis is gearing up for another season at Newcastle United after featuring heavily in his debut campaign and posted a number of pictures on his Instagram story after featuring in the Magpies’ 1-1 draw with Rotherham United.

The 23-year-old put up two candid pictures of himself in action at the AESSEAL New York Stadium before reposting a training picture with Jacob Murphy, captioning the snap ‘WB union’ in reference to their wing-back roles.

Lewis joined Newcastle from Norwich City in 2020 and has gone on to make 26 appearances in all competitions, notching one assist. He’s expected to be a regular this campaign and is improving his fitness through pre-season friendlies.

The Northern Ireland international played 45 minutes in Newcastle’s 1-0 defeat to York City, had 85 minutes in their 3-2 win over Doncaster Rovers and played a full 90 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Rotherham United.

It remains to be seen how Newcastle’s season will go, but supporters should be optimistic about Lewis. With a year under his belt and more Premier League added, he should be a more formidable opponent for teams to come up against.

In other news, there was a lukewarm reaction on social media after Newcastle were linked with Ross Barkley
