Jamaal Lascelles wasn’t called up to the England national team for this summer’s European Championships, so he’s able to take a holiday now the season is over. He won’t have to worry about pre-season for a number of weeks and has kept fans updated of his activities on his Instagram stories.
The 27-year-old went to the Algarve in Portugal with partner Harpinder Rai and their two children, the eldest whom is named Jamari Rai. Lascelles went swimming and had a meal with his family at the Bamboo Restaurant & Bar. Portugal are currently on the amber list for travel, so the Newcastle centre-back might struggle to get back to the UK after their trip ends.
He made 21 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals with one assist. Lascelles endured an injury-hit campaign, spending a period sidelined with muscle fatigue, a thigh strain and a foot injury, so Steve Bruce had to go half the season without him.
Lascelles could do with a good rest over the summer to overcome his injury woes and start the new campaign strongly.
