Elliot Anderson had some time out at a golf driving range ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Burnley. The 18-year-old posted on his Instagram story but didn’t tag the location, so it’s unknown where he was practicing.

Regardless, Anderson’s practice with a ball at his feet is proving much more productive as he’s broken into the first-team and could feature on the weekend. He’s a highly-rated creative midfielder knocking on the door.

The England U19 international, who represented Scotland at youth level in his earlier years has played twice for Newcastle at senior level. He scored six goals and made four assists for the U18s and had 11 goals with three assists for the U23s before making the step up.

Anderson has featured once in the Premier League this season and once in the FA Cup while being an unused substitute on seven occasions. He might soon be given an opportunity to prove his worth too, so Newcastle fans will see more of the hot prospect that made light work of the academy and reserves.

But until then, he’ll use golf to take his mind of matter.
