Newcastle United are focusing their attentions on potential deadline day loan moves for both Arsenal’s Joe Willock and Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury, with a possible move for the former looking more likely at this stage, according to The Telegraph.
The Magpies have been linked with a potential loan move for Choudhury throughout the winter window and it had looked like that move could get over the line. However, The Telegraph‘s latest update suggests that the move has been complicated by injuries to the Foxes’ squad.
It has also been reported that the Magpies are interested in making a move for Willock from Arsenal. According to The Telegraph, the move for the 21-year-old seems the more likely of the two to happen before the transfer window slams shut tonight.
However, there could be a potential stumbling block over whether the midfielder wants to leave north London for Tyneside. Steve Bruce is reportedly focusing most of his attention on getting the deals for Choudhury and Willock over the line.

This update will be encouraging for the Magpies, with time better being spent pursuing just a couple of deals that are likely to happen rather than chasing numerous transfers which are unlikely to get over the line.
Choudhury, who averaged an 85.1% passing success rate last season, would seem a good addition to a Newcastle side with one of the worst returns for this metric in the current Premier League campaign.
However, it seems more likely that Willock will arrive, so the Magpies will need to work on convincing him that a move to the northeast would be beneficial for his long-term development. That effort could make the difference between signing the youngster and missing out on him.
