Newcastle to scout Trabzonspor striker Sorloth
Newcastle have sent a representative to scout Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth, according to Turkish outlet Fotospor (as translated by Turkish Football).
The 24-year old forward is currently on loan in the Turkish Super Lig with Trabzonspor, where he has impressed this season, scoring 17 goals in 21 league games.
Now the Magpies are seemingly sett to run the rule over the Norway international, with Trabzonspor set to face Fenerbahce at the beginning of March in the Turkish Cup.
Fotospor (via Turkish Football) claim that Brighton and Monaco will join Steve Bruce’s side in watching Sorloth in person.
Sorloth is currently on a two-year loan in Turkey from the Eagles, who do not have the option to recall the Norwegian. However, with Trabzonspor having a €6million option to make the move permanent, Turkish Football claim that they could simply buy the forward and then look to sell him for a huge profit if interest continues to heat up.

Having flopped with Crystal Palace in the Premier League, failing to score in 16 appearances, Sorloth’s form in Turkey has seen him fire Trabzonspor to the top of the Super Lig, one point ahead of Istanbul Basaksehir with a game in hand.
Such is his importance to Black Sea Storm, having scored exactly double the amount of goals of the club’s second top goalscorer in all competitions, Newcastle would likely need to pay a premium to land the Norwegian forward.
With Andy Carroll likely on his way out this summer, having suffered another injury setback and with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, Sorloth could be the man that Bruce needs to spearhead his strike force next season.
Described as a ‘very strong’ dribbler and a ‘strong’ finisher by WhoScored, Sorloth could prove to be someone who could excel in Bruce’s system at St James’ Park, with Joelinton having struggled to do that this season.
However, Newcastle could need to move without haste and with purpose if they are to land the 24-year old frontman.
