Newcastle are interested in signing Wigan defender Antonee Robinson, according to Mirror Sport.
The 22-year old left-back had looked set to complete a move to AC Milan worth around £10million last month, only for a last minute hitch to derail the transfer (BBC Football).
The United States international, a former Everton academy graduate, has been a regular at the DW Stadium since signing for Wigan on a permanent basis last summer, playing 29 times in the Championship so far this season (Transfermarkt).
With his move to the Rossoneri having been dashed, Mirror Sport now report that several Premier League sides are keen on the full-back, with Chelsea, Aston Villa and the Magpies having made their interest known.
Should any of the clubs match the fee that AC Milan were prepared to pay in the summer, then the Latics will make a sizeable profit on the £1.98million they paid Everton for the 22-year old.

With Matt Ritchie and Paul Dummett, and the loan players Danny Rose and Jetro Willems, Newcastle have plenty of options to play left-back at St James’ Park, meaning that should Robinson sign for the club, they may need to let players go.
While Willems and Rose are both only on loan deals, either of the defenders could make a case for why they should earn a permanent move in the summer.
Willems made 19 Premier League appearances before his season-ending injury, scoring two goals in the process (Transfermarkt), and at just 25 years old, he could be someone who excels for Newcastle in the long term.
Rose however is a full England international and Champions League finalist, whose pedigree and desire to return to the North of England could see both Newcastle and the player himself seek a permanent move in the summer. With that in mind, I think that Newcastle could be much better off signing Rose or Willems on a permanent basis, rather than focusing the remainder of their funds elsewhere.
