Inter Milan’s Valentino Lazaro reportedly prefers the option of joining Bundesliga side RB Leipzig this month, and these Newcastle United fans don’t appear to be losing much sleep over it.
According to Tuesday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated by Sport Witness, a move to Germany now appears to be on the cards.
Having previously spent time at Hertha Berlin, the report on Sport Witness states that the player has ‘good memories’ of his time in Germany.
Alfredo Pedulla reported earlier this month that the player was ready to leave Antonio Conte’s side ahead of a potential move to join the Magpies, with Newcastle named as the favourites in the race to sign the 23-year-old.
Lazaro has fallen out of favour under the former Chelsea boss, starting just three times in Serie A, while also making another three appearances off the bench this season (WhoScored).
With a move to St James’ Park now looking unlikely, these Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the news on Twitter, with many glad to see him snub a potential move to Tyneside.
