Newcastle United are ready to offer Danny Rose a possible escape route from Tottenham this month, according to the London Evening Standard.
The Evening Standard say both Newcastle and Watford are admirers of the player and could make a move following suggestions of an ‘altercation’ with manager Jose Mourinho.
Rose has previously played down talk of a move away from Spurs this month, but the report states the upcoming European Championships could force him to reconsider his options.

This could be a deal that works for both parties in January – Newcastle need a left-back with both Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett poised to miss the rest of the season (Football365) and Rose is currently out of favour at Tottenham, featuring just once since the turn of the year (WhoScored).
Not only does it work for Newcastle’s squad, but a deal could also favour them financially, with the report claiming Tottenham will allow the player to leave for a ‘nominal fee’ – something that has encouraged Steve Bruce’s side.
As per The Guardian, Steve Bruce has been quick to point out that he wants quality over quantity this month and with over 200 Premier League appearances (transfermarkt) under his belt, Rose’s experience could go some way to softening the blow of losing Willems – who was clearly a popular character with supporters.
Given that Rose could be arriving for a small fee, with plenty of Premier League experience to call upon, Newcastle may struggle to find a better option than the Englishman this month.
