Newcastle and Leeds have been offered a boost in their attempts to try and sign Jarrod Bowen from Hull this month.
As reported by the Mirror’s David Anderson, Hull boss Grant McCann has revealed that the club may be forced into cashing in on the player if he doesn’t agree a new contract.
Sky Sports recently reported that Hull would be prepared to quadruple the player’s wages if they secure promotion, despite interest from Leeds, West Brom and Newcastle. As per the report, Bowen is out of contract this summer, but Hull have the option to extend his current deal by a further year.

This may come as a timely boost for Newcastle and their search to bring in another wide player this month. Bowen could be a great addition to the Newcastle team if he is to make the move to St James’ Park. Making the step up to the Premier League, he’d be arriving in good form with 16 league goals to his name this season (WhoScored).
Newcastle, who have only scored 24 times in the league themselves, are in need of the added threat and have relied heavily on their defence for goals this season. Ciaran Clark, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Florian Lejeune and Jetro Willems have all scored the same number of goals as Joelinton as things stand, highlighting the need to add to their forward line (BBC).
The only concern for supporters could be the imminent arrival of Valentino Lazaro, who Keith Downie claims is on his way to Newcastle for a medical. Should the club go on to complete a deal for the Austrian, it may cast doubts over a move for Bowen as well.
