Reports from the Daily Mail have suggested that Andy Carroll is due to feature for the first time since re-joining the club on a free transfer.
Upon returning to the club he supports, he was nursing a long-term ankle injury, but he is finally set for a return to the match-day squad for this weekend’s game against Brighton.
Despite the good news, these Newcastle fans on Twitter were feeling cautious about the striker’s return.

This news means so much to the Newcastle fans and rightly so, with so much discontent surrounding the owner and Steve Bruce, this will be a timely lift.
Not only is Carroll a player who supports Newcastle, fans know he will give his all to be a success and pull the club away from the relegation zone this season.
It is not yet certain what role Carroll will play, whether he could partner Joelinton or even replace him.
You’d have to think the latter is unlikely given the fact Joelinton cost £40 million, but even if there is limited game time, Carroll’s return will be a morale boost for everyone, we just hope he can keep himself fit this time.
