West Brom remain interested in Newcastle forward Dwight Gayle ahead of the January transfer window.

According to the Shields Gazette, West Brom are considering another swoop for Gayle once the winter window opens in a few months time.

The report claims that West Brom were keen on a deal for Gayle in the summer, but were unable to bring him to The Hawthorns for a second year.

Should Newcastle allow Gayle to leave in January?

No. As I explained earlier this week, Gayle could prove to be a key member of Steve Bruce’s side and help Newcastle avoid relegation back down to the second tier.

Gayle is currently out injured, but he could get the chance to prove his worth at Premier League level once fit – if Steve Bruce is willing to bring him into the first-team fold.

He could play up alongside Joelinton and offer the Brazilian a capable strike partner to bring the best out of both of them.

However, if come January Gayle is still out of the team and struggling to make an impact, it could be wise to cash in on the forward and let him join West Brom.
