Newcastle United’s second home fixture of the Premier League saw them being held to a 1-1 draw against Watford. The Hornets opened the scoring with less than 100 seconds on the clock thanks to Will Hughes.
The Magpies had some really good chances to equalise but a resilient Ben Foster foiled them time and again. They eventually found an equaliser thanks to Fabian Schar, who scored his first goal of the season.
Both sides had opportunities to find a winner but were unable to do so. In the end, both teams had to be content with a point heading into the international break.
Newcastle are now 14th in the league table after today’s result. The Magpies resume their Premier League campaign exactly two weeks later when they face Liverpool at Anfield. The Reds maintained their 100% record in the league this season by beating Burnley 3-0 at Turf Moor.
