Steve Bruce has admitted that he made a mistake against Arsenal by bringing on Jetro Willems to play in midfield.
At the time, there appeared to be a tactical mix-up, with the Dutchman starting in central midfield before moving out to the left.
The loan signing, who has previously played in midfield, was then at fault for the Arsenal goal and both he and Bruce have come in for some criticism since.
As reported by Lee Ryder, Bruce admitted ‘we made a mistake’ on the day, but judging by the reactions of these Newcastle supporters, some are going to be less forgiving than others.

Bruce has tackled the issue the only way he can, by simply admitting that the decision was a mistake.
Unfortunately for him, it was one that had serious consequences on the result and now the mood among supporters.
Bruce hasn’t had the complete backing of Newcastle supporters from the get-go and mistakes like this aren’t going to help his cause unless results pick up quickly.
Three points at Carrow Road would be the perfect way to sweep this under the carpet and move on.
