Dwight Gayle has been linked with Leeds United and West Brom in recent days, despite Steve Bruce revealing his desire to keep the forward on Tyneside.
However, former England defender Danny Mills has tipped Gayle to seek a Newcastle exit over the coming days in search of regular game time.

Mills, who is a Leeds United favourite, spoke exclusively to Football Insider, and said:
He’ll want to play, it’s as simple as that. Every player wants to play. He knows the way Newcastle are going, he’s unlikely to feature in many games.
Even if there’s injuries, he might still be on the bench, so at this stage of his career he’ll want to play.

If regular game time is what Gayle is after, he may well ask Bruce to grant him a St James’ Park exit in the coming days.
The forward has a prolific goalscoring record in the second tier and would definitely be a starter for both West Brom and Leeds.
However, if the striker is hoping to turn out at the highest level, he should stay with Newcastle and look to prove himself in the Premier League after a disappointing personal campaign in 2017/18.
It all depends on what the player wants. If he wants to take the easier option and be the main man, he’ll drop back down to the Championship, but the majority of Newcastle fans will be hoping he is up for the challenge under Bruce and remains at the club ahead of the opening game against Arsenal on Sunday.
