Newcastle has a new face leading the line this season.
With fan favorite Salomon Rondon being transferred to DL Yifang in China and second-half hero Ayoze Perez at Leicester, the club knew they needed to go out and buy a big name forward.
Hoffenheim forward Joelinton was that man, and with a £40million price tag, expectations will be high. The Brazilian brings a lot to the table, though, and his skill set looks perfectly fit for the Premier League.

Joelinton is by no means a small forward.
His 6’1″ frame combined with his aerial ability makes him a threat both in the channels and in the air. Being just 22, he also has plenty of pace to burn and can shrug off defenders when necessary.
With just seven goals in his 29 appearances for Hoffenheim last season, supporters may be skeptical in what kind of forward they are getting. Fortunately, he is the perfect fit for Newcastle’s style of play.
Hard working, strong aerial presence, and lethal with both feet. Joelinton ticks all of these boxes and then some, making him the perfect replacement for Rondon and Perez alike.
Matt Ritchie will have a new favorite target, while Jonjo Shelvey and Miguel Almiron will be delighted to put the new forward in behind on goal.

OGC Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin has also joined the club, making the forwards at Newcastle more youthful, pacey, and lethal overal. Joelinton will have a bit of pressure lifted off him with the Saint-Maximin singing, but his expected goal rate will still be quite high.
Despite their 13th place finish last season, Newcastle supporters still got quite the showing in the goal scoring category. Rondon and Perez combined for 23 of the clubs 42 league goals, so Joelinton has quite the quota to fill.
With a new manager in Steve Bruce and a few new signings as well, Newcastle are shaping up to be an attractive side. A top 10 finish is not out of the question for the Magpies, and Joelinton will look to be a big contributor to the club’s finish.
