Newcastle have reportedly joined the race to sign Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati – but should the Magpies be looking to strengthen other areas ahead of the upcoming campaign?
According to the Daily Record, cited by The Boot Room, Newcastle have joined the likes of Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco and Nice in the race to land the highly-rated winger.

Fati is out of contract with the Spanish giants this summer and is yet to sign a three-year deal that has been placed on the table, meaning he could depart the club for a minimal fee in the coming months.
The 16-year-old finished the 2018/19 season as the leading scorer in Barcelona’s youth side which has attracted interest all across Europe.
The wide man is regarded as a future star, however, Newcastle still have Rafael Benitez’s deal to sort out, and will then look to strengthen their first-team options for the upcoming campaign.
Even though securing a deal for Fati would more than likely be a shrewd piece of business in years to come, the Magpies have bigger problems to worry about.
If Benitez remains at St James’ Park, the Spaniard will be looking to bolster his options in plenty of areas, so a move for Fati could be placed lower down the list of priorities ahead of the new season.
