Newcastle pulled off a surprising victory against Leicester on Friday night, winning 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Having won their last four games under Brendan Rodgers, the in-form Leicester side started brightly, but couldn’t find their grip on the game as the contest went on.

Salomon Rondon came close to opening the scoring early on, with his swerving free-kick crashing off the crossbar.

Ayoze Perez finally broke the deadlock shortly after the half hour mark, steering a well-hit Matt Ritchie cross past Kasper Schmeichel with a good header inside the box.
