Newcastle targeting Rondon alternatives
Spartak Moscow striker Ze Luis is said to be a transfer target for Newcastle this summer should the Magpies fail to agree a deal with West Brom for Salomon Rondon.
According to teamtalk, Newcastle remain keen on signing Rondon on a permanent deal in the summer, but the Baggies asking price is a potential stumbling block.
The report suggests West Brom are demanding a fee in the region of £16million for the Venezuelan, who has scored nine goals and created five assists in the league during his loan spell with Newcastle this season.
And Ze Luis is said to be one of the Magpies’ potential replacements for Rondon, with the Cape Verde international reportedly worth just £10million.
The 28-year-old has scored eight goals in 17 league appearances in the Russian Premier League this season, helping his side challenge for a Champions League qualification spot.
Ze Luis has also impressed for Spartak in the Europa League, scoring three goals in six appearances in the competition.
