Championship hopefuls Aston Villa have reportedly contacted Newcastle regarding the availability of Isaac Hayden, with West Brom also keen, according to The Daily Mail, via Here Is The City.
The 23-year-old is struggling for game time this season under Rafa Benitez, with a move away on the cards as he seeks regular first-team opportunities.
Aston Villa and West Brom, who are both aiming for promotion back to the Premier League, are said to potential destinations but it is unclear whether a move would be temporary or permanent.
With Newcastle’s top flight status under threat, Benitez doesn’t want to lose players as his side fight relegation to the Championship.
His versatility in both midfield and defence makes Hayden a good option to turn to, but he isn’t featuring quite as much as he would like to.
The Englishman has made 68 appearances for Newcastle since joining from Arsenal in 2016, and was part of the side that won the Championship title in the 2016/17 season.
