Newcastle have professed an interest in signing Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur.
The 19-year-old has impressed multiple clubs across Europe, with his assured and mature performances in the centre of the park for his Super Lig side.
Making 32 appearances in all competitions last year, the Turkey U21 star played a big part in helping his team to an impressive fifth-placed finish in the Turkish top-flight, agonisingly one place short of achieving qualification to the Europa League.
The Magpies have been linked with various young players so far this winter, and Karadeniz claims that Omur is the latest to be tipped with a possible move to St James’ Park.
The report goes on to state that Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has been insistent on the signing of the Trabzon-native, suggesting he has taken quite a liking to the diminutive figure.
A creative midfielder rather than a powerhouse, Omur could take time to adjust to the Premier League with his wiry 5’6 frame.
