Arsenal enter race for Newcastle target Rogerio

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the development of young full-back and Newcastle United target Rogerio, according to a report on Sport Witness, who quote Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 20-year-old left-back is currently on loan from Juventus to fellow Serie A club Sassuolo and has cemented a first-team spot for them so far this season.

The Brazilian international is highly-rated in Italy and has put in some impressive performances this season to help Sassuolo to 11th place in the league table.

Rogerio, who loves to get forward on the left wing, has been strongly linked with a move to Wolves in recent weeks.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is keen to strengthen his side and the Gunners don’t have a particularly strong selection of left-backs.

However, Arsenal have extended ageing left-back Nacho Monreal’s contract by one year but may also face tough competition from the Magpies for Rogerio.
