Newcastle have made a bid for Milan forward Fabio Borini, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The 27-year-old has appeared just 11 times for his club so far this season, netting on one occasion in the Europa League.
Seemingly surplus to requirements at the San Siro, the Italian is no stranger to the north east of England.
A Sunderland player between 2013 and 2017, Borini made 93 appearances for the Black Cats.

The former Liverpool player moved to Milan on loan for the 2017-18 season, and I Rossoneri purchased the striker in a permanent capacity in the summer.
Tutto Mercato go on to claim that the Italian international has been offered the chance to move back to the Premier League with the Magpies, or head out to China to play for Shenzen.
The report also states that any move for the Bentivoglio-native would set Newcastle back somewhere between €10 and €12 million.
