Newcastle United have made an approach for Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Jetro Willems, according to a report from journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Rafa Benitez is keen to make additions to his squad in January and left-back is an area he is keen to strengthen, if funds are made available to him by the club’s owner.
Willems only joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2017 but his impressive performances have alerted a number of clubs, including the Magpies.

Whether Frankfurt will be willing to sell the Dutch international in January remains to be seen but Newcastle have made it know that they’re interested in signing the 24-year-old.
AS Roma have also identified Willems as a possible option, but it seems like they have Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aaanholt on top of their list of potential targets.
It remains to be seen how much money Benitez will have to spend in January but the manager is still doing the groundwork, hoping that he’ll be given the funds he wants.
