Newcastle target Rodrigues eyed by Stuttgart
Long-term Newcastle United target Garry Rodrigues is a wanted man ahead of the January transfer window, with Stuttgart reported to be keen on a deal.
The Cape Verde international has been perennially linked with a switch to St James’ Park but Turkish giants Galatasaray have often been intent on retaining his services.
However, as the New Year comes around, it is reported by Calciomercato that the Super Lig outfit will face an uphill battle to keep hold of the Dutch-born winger.
Stuttgart are currently enduring a difficult season in Germany. They are sat in 16th place on the Bundesliga table and could be on the lookout for attacking inspiration in the upcoming transfer window.
Rodrigues, 28, has found the net on four occasions in all competitions this season, with one of these strikes coming in Galatasaray’s Champions League group stage campaign.
Newcastle will need to act quickly if they are to pursue the experienced winger, it seems, with other European clubs now sniffing around.
