Atlanta United’s president Darren Eales has revealed that it would take a ‘proper offer’ for the club to sell Miguel Almiron, with Newcastle United reportedly keen on the midfielder, Chronicle Live report.
The 24-year-old has impressed in the MLS this season, scoring 13 times in 37 appearances, helping Atlanta to domestic glory.
The creative midfielder started in Atlanta’s 2-0 victory over Portland Timbers on Saturday, securing the MLS Cup for United in the process.

Almiron’s stand out performances this season have alerted numerous clubs around Europe, with Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez refusing to rule out the midfielder as a potential signing.
And talking to the Press Association, president Earles addressed the rumours of Almiron making the move to England.
He’s a top talent and we’re a team that is trying to win trophies, with an owner who is a billionaire, who cares about winning.
We’re in a situation where it has to be the right offer for the club, but we’re not going to accept any of the chump change figures I’ve seen in the press.
Earles then went on to heap praise on the Paraguayan, revealing it would take a ‘proper offer’ for the club to consider selling the midfielder.
If there’s a proper offer, if it’s the right offer for Atlanta United and the player and the league, then we’ll consider it.
But we’re not under any sort of pressure to transfer the player so in that sense it has to be a realistic offer that measures the true value of Miguel Almiron, who is just a wonderful player.
Reports have been circling that Newcastle could sign the player on loan next month until the end of the season in a deal that would include the option to buy the player permanently for a fee in the region of £15 million.
