Newcastle are interested in signing former Sunderland forward Fabio Borini, according to reports.
The 27-year old one time Italy international currently plays for AC Milan, having signed for the Rossoneri last summer following a season-long loan with the club the year before.
However, despite featuring heavily during his debut season at the San Siro, Borini has struggled for game time this campaign under manager Gennaro Gattuso, and according to Tuttomercatoweb, Milan would be open to sanctioning a sale.
The report also claims that Magpies manager Rafa Benitez has carried out checks over the player in recent weeks, although he has not yet made an official offer.
While Borini isn’t believed to be immediately for sale, if the right offer comes in, Milan wouldn’t rule it out.
