Benitez includes Under-23s in first-team training
Newcastle United have included a number of the club’s Under-23 squad in first-team training during the international break.
With a large number of senior players either unavailable through international commitments or through injury, Benitez has augmented his squad by bringing in the young talent to take part in sessions, with the Magpies currently preparing to face Burnley on Monday week.
Achraf Lazaar has also been called up to first-team training, with the forgotten man yet to make a first-team appearance for the club this season.
Highly rated and form striker Elias Sorensen has also been given the nod once more, with the Denmark youth international training with the first-team for the second successive week. This is due, in part, to Yoshinori Muto being granted leave, with the summer signing back in Japan following the birth of his child.
Matty Longstaff, Sean Longstaff, Cal Roberts, Owen Bailey, Kelland Watts, Thomas Allan, Nathan Harker, Rosaire Longelo, Stefan O’Connor and Juanito were also picture in training.
