Newcastle United have been handed a blow in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, according to a report on Talksport.
The Magpies have been keeping an eye on Haller and were set to make a move for him in the January transfer window.
However, the Frenchman’s incredible goalscoring form so far this season has seen his value increase drastically.

The forward has found the back of the net eight times in 11 Bundesliga matches, with his agent Karlheinz Forster now claiming that he can only be afforded by big clubs like Barcelona.
Forster said:
Such players become only interesting for the top clubs. Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona. Only these clubs can afford them in the future.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is hoping to strengthen his attacking department in the January transfer window.
Salomon Rondon netted twice as the Magpies defeated Bournemouth and Benitez will be desperate for the on-loan forward to keep scoring as his side look to avoid relegation.
