Dwight Gayle would be open to playing for Newcastle United next season, according to claims from the Chronicle.
The forward is currently out on loan at Championship promotion-hopefuls West Brom, where he is enjoying plenty of success.
Gayle has already found the net on nine occasions and impressed in the Baggies’ recent 4-1 demolition of Leeds United, in which he found the net with a backheel.

West Brom are likely to be keen on pursuing a deal for the experienced striker in the summer but according to the Chronicle, this could be difficult for Darren Moore’s side to achieve.
Nevertheless, Gayle seems to be keeping his options open. It’s reported that the former Crystal Palace star would be willing to get back to work at St James’ Park should Rafa Benitez opt to retain his services.
No buyout clause was inserted in Gayle’s deal to join West Brom and ahead of next summer, it seems the player’s future remains in Newcastle’s hands.
