Newcastle head to St Mary’s Stadium to face Southampton on Saturday afternoon, still in pursuit of their first Premier League win of the season.
It has been a taxing start to the campaign for Rafa Benitez and his side, who have picked up just two points from their opening nine games, leaving them routed to the bottom of the table.
Southampton are having teething problems themselves, with the Saints having only one once so far in Mark Hughes’ debut full season as manager, with that result having come on September 1.
The South Coast club did pick up a point against Bournemouth last weekend however, and are expected to be able to field a full strength side against the Magpies.
After a disappointing 1-0 loss to Brighton last weekend, Newcastle will at least be buoyed by the return of defender Ciaran Clark and forward Salomón Rondón from injury.
Here’s how we expect Newcastle to line up on Saturday afternoon.
