Newcastle United defender Florian Lejeune has been speaking about his rehabilitation following knee surgery.
The Frenchman has missed the vast majority of the Premier League season so far but, as quoted by the Shields Gazette, spoke optimistically about his chances of returning to full training in the near future.
Three months ago, Lejeune sustained a serious knee injury as he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. However, he is now edging ever closer to a return to fitness, with a return date not yet specified.

Lejeune, who reflected on his period of recovery from the knee surgery, said:
I’m working hard on this. I have no date to go and train with the rest of the team. I keep my cards close to my chest because one day I’m fine by the next I’m not. But it shouldn’t be too long before I’m back with the squad.
Newcastle will be desperately hoping to have the former Eibar man fit and available in the near future as they bid to lift themselves out of the Premier League relegation zone.
Rafa Benitez’s side have struggled to keep the goals out this season and have not yet won a single match. Lejeune will be hoping to return swiftly to aid their quest to hit form in the near future.
